how can I get my 2 1/2 year old son to start using the potty

take him a few times a day, see if he can make something: 1 and 2. if he is able to make on the potty and he can tell when he needs to go. then yoou could let him run around the house without a diaper. and take him to the bathroom often. this does work but it is very messy. good luck!
