Advantages:Very caring Roshei Yeshiva, lower Rebbe /Talmid ratio, Yeshiva guys and Rebbeim know each other.

Disadvantages: Not considered among the elite of Yeshivas (not the Harvard) even though some boys are very good guys with very good midos. Lakewood has plenty of "nothing spesh" boys as well, but it's more statusy.

my brother went there and was really happy.
boys he became friends with had really good middos and rebbeim were involved with boy's life.
our family had good impression

one of my friend's husbands learned there for many years and he is a great guy with great midos!

All over. My son was unhappy in the lakewood bais medrash he was in. He left and came home. After succos he got a ride to Brooklyn to Derech Chaim with the intention of staying if he liked it and they accepted him. He stayed. He has been there many years-as a bochur and as a kollel youngerleit. They have been amazing and a great encouragement for him. The helped him when it came to shidduchim too.

I used to work for a company that did service for that yeshiva ( I'm not going into details over here).
At some point, better not say what my coworkers and I thought..... then came a new zman, new boys arrived and they were some amazing boys over there.
