Anyone know the words to the rainy day song. I believe it was made up by Ella Adler in the 90s for camp Sternberg.

This is what I remember of it:

"It's a rainy day, its a rainy day
All the skies are filled with clouds
And I can't go out to play,
But I love the rain anyway."

That's about all I remember, I guess it's the chorus. And I also remember one stanza from the end of a paragraph -

"The miracle of geshem
I thank you for the rain
You can see my smile from the misty windowpane"

The version I rem is a little different:
It's a rainy day, it's a rainy day
And the sky is full of clouds and I can't go out and play but I love the rain.. anyway .

I love it when it drizzles, I love it when it pours
I love the sound of pitter patter raining on my pores (doors?)

The first line is
Have you ever wondered and thought about the rain,
That Hashem created....

There are a bunch of stanzas (most of them mentioned here already) and there's more than what's written here but it's something like. . .

Have you ever wondered and thought about the rain
why Hashem created drops of water all the same
and have you ever wondered and thought about the drops
the feed the lovely flowers and the trees and mountaintops

its a rainy day, it's a rainy day
oh the skies are full of clouds
and I can't go out and play
but I love the rain anyway

I love it when it drizzles
I love it when it pours
I love the sound of pitter patter
raining on my doors
the miracle of geshem
I thank you for the rain
and you can see my smiling
through the misty window pane

It's a rainy day, it's a rainy day. . .

I'm for sure forgetting some because I remember the hebrew verse "u'shavtem mayim b'sason mimayanei hayeshua" is in it somewhere. . ..

Remember "making rain" in camp?!!??

This is bringing back memories! I also remember one very rainy summer in Pioneers when we used to sing a spoof of this stanza:

I love it when it drizzles
I love it when it pours
I love the sound of pitter patter
raining on my doors
the miracle of geshem
I thank you for the rain
and you can see my smiling
through the misty window pane

We sang:
"I hate it when it drizzles,
I hate it when it pours
I hate the sound of pitter patter
raining on my doors
it's the miracle of geshem
but I'm starting to complain
if this continues any more
I'm gonna go insane!!" Very Happy

harriet I think you got it mostly right. Maybe the last paragraph was a littel different. I remember the line ' Thank you for the rain' was ' hashem supplys the rain'. I might be wrong as well.

This is how I remember it.

Have you ever wondered
And thought about the rain
why Hashem created drops of water
all the same?
And have you ever wondered
And thought about the drops
that feed the lovely flowers
and the trees and mountaintops

chorus:
It's a rainy day, it's a rainy day
Oh the sky is full of clouds
and I can't go out and play
But I love the rain anyway.

Early in the morning
at the crack of dawn,
I can feel the dew Hashem
has sprinkled on my lawn
And these very little droplets,
just the way they came
will rise again into the clouds,
and soon become the rain.

Chorus

I love it when it drizzles
I love it when it pours
I love the sound of pitter patter
raining on my doors
The miracle of geshem
I thank you for the rain
you can see my smile
from the misty windowpane

chorus

....
.....
.....
....
Ever since creation
water gives us life
V'shavtem mayim bsasson
mimainei hayeshua

chorus.

Forgot those 4 lines in the last stanza

I don't have it all but we still sing it in our house (and put in lots of "something"s for the verses I'm missing):

Have you ever wondered and thought about the rain
Why Hashem created drops of water all the same
And have you ever wondered and thought about those drops
That feed the lovely flowers and the trees and mountain tops

It's a rainy day
It's a rainy day
Oh the sky is full of clouds
And I can't go out to play
But I love the rain anyway

Early in the morning
At the crack of dawn
I hear the pitter-patter of the dew drops on my lawn
(I'm not sure if it's this stanza, but I also remember this part so I stick it in to end this stanza)
The miracle of geshem
I thank you for the rain
You can see my smile from the misty windowpane (thank you for this line, I always say something here too)

I love it when it drizzles
I love it when it pours
I love something something (etc)
Don't know what goes here but it does end
U'sh'avtem Mayim b'sason miymaynei hayshuah

Anyone else?

I'd rather not give out my number, but it seems like we got almost all the lyrics here. Is it possible that you could just provide us with the four missing lines from that last stanza that Hasmen loves me didn't remember?

If you don't .mind Hanna, this is the stanza that was missing a few lines. I believe it is the last stanza:
"....
.....
.....
....
Ever since creation
water gives us life
V'shavtem mayim bsasson
mimainei hayeshua"

Wow. I don't think they were singing the full song by the time I was a camper. (And I was a camper in the late 90s/early 00s, I think.) All I remember us singing was the chorus...
