We bought a 100% cotton sateen type cotton set there for $100 or so and it has washed very well.
You always need to look for at least 200 thread count. I think the ones we bought had a higher thread count too but don't remember.
They have poly cottons for cheaper but we don't like the quality of poly cottons.

Do the sets need ironing?

I had the same problem with one of my sheets elastic from CC but I bought a cheap solid color sheet online

I had the same issue with the beige tapestry type set. Was it this set too?

I just bought my first set from cc. It's the 200 count thread that was on sale for $79.99. It's not for my room so I didn't sleep with it but I can tell you that I'm happy with it. I washed it twice... It feels crisp but not scratchy. I had guests who commented without knowing that it was new. They said that the beds and linens were very comfortable.

I'm not familiar with the cc linen. When I opened a set there a while ago, it felt very coarse to me.
Check out Bingo though they have the most amazing sateen sets at great prices.

Are they all the cheapest of their line?
Also it's for children and one will occasionaly soil it. Do you wash on cold? How do you dry it
