Does anyone know if you can freeze baked salmon?

I would freeze it raw.

I bake and freeze salmon all the time. When you are ready to prepare it, defrost it in the fridge, do not put it in the oven frozen. From my experience, it will lose all the taste and texture that way.

I usually freeze it raw, but I would definitel freeze it cooked. Should be no problem.

I would not buy if fresh and pay top dollar for it if I was going to freeze it. you can buy already frozen salmon for much less.

this advice was given to me by the fish store themselves!

I like to buy it fresh & divide it into portions of 2 pieces because only DH & I eat it. Then I freeze it.

I don't freeze much ... I agree with the expense just to freeze seems a waste ...

being that you can walk into a fish store and buy what you need, when you need it, I don't get it.

I agree ... the whole idea of buying at a fresh fish place is for the freshness ... once you freeze it - however it can cost cheaper if you buy the whole fish ... that would be a reason ... and then you know how long it is frozen ... another reason ... I still like it fresh ...

The reason why I asked was because I made salmon for dinner but then I had leftovers so I wanted to know if I could freeze the leftovers, that's all.

I wouldn't freeze fresh fish at all. Neither cooked nor raw.

The packaged frozen fish is good, especially since they made the ones that are breaded. Just needs frying or baking.
