You can use a cookie sheet (not a throw away aluminum pan, but a real washable pan) as the base. Check to make sure it's magnetic, most are but some are not. You can buy a cheap off name brand in the 99 cent store, as you are not using it to cook, it's just for playing! My son enjoys using pans in a variety of sizes. It's a lot of fun, as the structure holds up longer. It still falls down if pushed, but many a time it stays up partially.

Wow, that's a really great deal!
Anyone interested in purchasing this set should jump on this; the price rarely goes down to less than $1 a tile (for the name brand, which my kids definitely prefer)
