CM (if you are out there) this looks really good! What herbs do you mix with the oil if you don't have italian dressing on hand? TIA!

Sure I'm here. Whatever you like. Parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic, onion powder, etc.

This looks perfect, I'm just trying to imagine in my head how italian seasoning matches with honey??? I would never have put the two together? What would happen if it was just honey, lemon juice, oil and parsley flakes with apples, onions, and sweet potatoes? and TR, did you ever try it braised in a pot? How was it?

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I bumped up this thread, which was originally posted several years back.

skin on or skin off? baked covered or uncovered?

Can I use yellow flesh potatos instead of sweet potatos?

I want to make this for shabbos.
Thanks!

Uncovered.
Sweet potatoes compliment the flavors of this dish better than potatoes.

Best CHicken EVER!!!!!

I roasted it uncovered for 2hours on 375, basted with sauce, covered it and baked it an additional 20 minutes, basted again and let it rest for 5 minutes. It looked cookbook perfect and tasted even better!

I will throw in more apple slices next time, because I felt like I need more. I made the recipe for 2 chicken bottoms and I used 1 and a half apples. I Suggest slicing thick so theres something to bite.

One more time:

YUMMMMM!!!

This is worth a bump.

I made this yesterday and the family raved. I used maple syrup and a medley of root vegetables. It was quick and delicious.
