I am looking for something new to serve as a side dish salad for shabbos lunch. NOT SWEET! I make 3 salads every week, rotating between humus, tehina, guacamole, Israeli salad, cabbage salad w sesame, beet salad and fennel salad. I would like something different. At risk of repeating myself, not sweet. No sugar, honey, sugared pecans....

Deli salad
Kani ( mock crab) salad
Marinated salad: diced green peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers, carrots sliced small, cucumbers diced and gherkins diced. Dressing: salt, pepper, garlic powder, oil and vinegar. Mix well and marinate overnight before serving. I sometimes add shredded purple cabbage to the mix as well.

Hearts of palm: toss together sliced hearts of palm, cubes of avocado and tomato, with garlic, olive oil, salt, dill.

Feel free to omit the 1/2 tsp honey

Taco salad: lettuce, red onion, avocado, corn, and any other veggies you would like. Make a dressing my mixing salsa and mayo and add cayenne pepper if you want it a little more hot. Add taco chips for crunch.

Take romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red pepper, olives, pickles, whatever you like, chickpeas, baby corn, hearts of palm, avacado, whatever else you're in the mood of, and mix in a bowl. Omit whichever of the aforementioned ingredients that you don't want to use.

Add oil, vinegar, lemon juice, and salt.

Sometimes the most basic recipes are the best lol.

1 bag baby spinach leaves
sliced red onion
sliced and sautéed Portobello mushrooms
3/4 box grape tomatoes, halved

Layer vegetables, then drizzle with vinaigrette of 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 4 tablespoons olive oil, 1 crushed garlic clove and lots of kosher salt and black pepper to taste.

Or make a creamy dressing. This one has a bit of sugar.
