Do doctors generally allow antibiotics and a pain reliever to be taken at the same time?

While the answer is generally yes, check with the pharmacist about the dosage. The liver is where most drugs are broken down and too much tylenol is hard on the liver while too much ibruprophen is hard on the kidneys. I always call the pharmacist who filled the prescription for information about which medications can be taken with which other medications. I am married to a physician but it is the pharmacists that are experts in these matters.
