Anyone heard of Melamed Academy? Is it for real? Are there other online options other than Chabad (no offense, just not our derech) for middle/high school girl and boy.

Melamed Academy is for real. it is a company that puts together material for children to homeschool with, both kodesh (Judaics) and chol (secular). I do not use it, but others do and they seem relatively happy with the experience, especially as it takes all of the work off the parent's hands as far as curriculum and grading.
There are many different options for having someone else teach your children Judaics. There are online tutors in America and Israel who teach individuals or in group settings. There are online schools of various "flavors" of Judaism as well. You might want to take a look at the advertisements from the last Torah Home Ed conference I organized for some examples of companies that can help you homeschool your children.
