I made a challah recipe with 5 lb flour but a bit of flour got lost (splattered onto counter when I was pouring it in, or stuck to the bowl after I took the dough out and I didn't scrape out every last bit).
Do I still make a Brocha if it ended up being slightly less than 5 lb? (Probably lost about 1/4 c of flour or less)

You can make a bracha for 4.4 lbs of dough. So I guess it depends on your shita. But either way, if you intented for 5 but somehow lost some of the flour, I would assume you can rely on the other shita. Aside from which, I don't think anyone gets every powder of flour into their dough.

Weight of flour with a brocha, the two opinions I know. Of are:
R'chaim Noeh -1.5kg (3.3lb)
Chazon Ish- 2.25kg (5lb)

Thanks. Ended up calling a rabbi because I didn't see these responses in time, he said I can def make a Brocha.

you always take challah ... the brocha on that amount is for sure

don't you always lose a little flour to limbo ?

Well it's my first time making a large amount challah so I never really dealt with the halachos before.

I really thought you started off with the amount but lost a little during the messy process & simply didn't think that counts
