I planned for today to be my challah baking day. But where I live it's supposed to rain the whole day - will the rain cause the dough not to rise well?
Is there anything to this or is it a complete myth?

Humidity does affect baking. You might need to add a little more flour to the dough.
I would still bake today, but would go by the feel of the dough, not exact recipe. Which I always do anyway.

Can you clarify what you are asking?

On rainy days you don't make sesame-honey candy because the humidity will keep the matrix from hardening and you'll be left with goo. Go ahead and bake your challah. It'll be fine as long as you don't leave it out in the rain.

I think humidity is actually good for yeast doughs. Helps them rise and stay moist.

You can't make meringues on a rainy day but challah dough may be stickier than usual but will turn out yummy

The dough rises really quickly in this warm humid weather!
