B'ezrat Hashem my daughter is getting married tomorrow.
Please could someone let me know the Brocha that the father generally gives his daughter before she goes to the chuppah; is it a particular text, or just whatever he choses?
Many thanks.

It's generally done straight after the bedecken.

IIRC, its the brocha he gives on Friday night? "May you be like...."? I'm NOT sure though so I hope someone else chimes in here.... |
Thank you.
I think we will stick to that one, and maybe add a few extra words.

Ok. I didn't have one, and didn't see one that I remember.

I think my father gave me the erev Yom Kippur brocha. Otherwise he wouldn't have had a siddur handy.

Thank you

There seem to be varying opinions, I just wondered which is the one generally used.
I think my husband wants to use the Leil Shabbos one, and a few of his own words for Mazel Brocha, etc..

Mazal Tov OP!
In addition to the above (Friday Night, Erev Yom Kippur, etc..) I've heard some say the Pasuk that Lavan said to Rivka Imeinu when she was leaving with Eliezer to marry Yitzchak. "Achosi At Tehi L'alfei R'vava, V'yirash Zaracheh es Shaar Aivav."

This week Shira Smiles talks about this bracha. It should be available later in the week on yutorah or torahanytime.
Mazel tov!

Can the father also say Shehechiyanu?

Nope, happy as he surely is, there are halachic guidelines about when we make a shehechiyanu, and the wedding of a child is not one of them. He could buy a new suit for the occasion and make a shehechiyanu on that, and have in mind that it's also going on the wedding.

Interesting I also heard of saying the passuk Lavan said to Rivka Imeinu, but only the first half ending at "revava" without the rest of the words. I defer to the other posters, they sound like they know what they're talking about.
I just wanted to say,
MAZEL TOV!
May you and your dh enjoy every minute of the simcha, and many more in the future!
