I've heard there's an idea of men helping to set up the Shabbos candles, like to participate in the rectification of Adam'a (my smart phone won't let me put an "s" after "Adam"... it keeps "correcting" with an "a").
but of his participation in the chet with Chava.
Does anyone know more about this, where it's sourced? Thank you in advance for any responses

My father always does this.
My DH tries too.
I never knew the reason for it so thanks op!
I would also love to know a source.

Dh always does it, but I have never heard of a reason behind it. Interesting

my father sets up my mom's candles and my husband always sets up mine but I never knew there was a real reason for the men to do that. that's interesting. Thanks for bringing this up.

I know there is something about men doing it. I figure, as long as he does it, I'm OK not knowing exactly why

The notion of men helping to set up the neiros can be found in Mishna Berura 263:12 (quoting earlier sources):
. ומ"מ טוב שהאיש יתקן הנרות
https://www.sefaria.org/Mishna.....g2=en
but no reason is given and the most basic one is that men are also obligated in this mitzvah and therefore should have some share it in too. (I've never heard of any women preparing Chanukah neiros based on similar logic.)

I've also learned that the husband should also be part of the mitzvah.
