Yeah. I was told u can't give a kid fish til they could say fish. Does that work with a gun too? I'll chalk it up to "not my mesora either"...

I believe because then they are too young and can choke on a bone. Some ppl apply it to gefilte fish too, but that's because of tradition.

It seems arbitrary tho. Who would want to give a kid something he/she can choke on before they had teeth? Right? Would you give a toothless baby a pickle?

I show my kids in the mirror as infants. They stop crying when they see themselves. They look at it for a few seconds only.

I asked. He said mesorah, if I remember correctly. It was many years ago. I figured I do crazier things that I don't understand, I can handle this!
