You forgot Science/Engineering as a choice (I can't be the only one, can I?)!

I'm a biologist, in medical research.

For those that asked about my job as an oncology RN. I actually find it rewarding to be able to help people and make a difference at such a difficult time. I can take care of the families as well as the patients. Also in today's day and age cancer is often a chronic illness and there are happy endings and people living long lives with cancer

Isn't cancer something y'kill off with surgery or chemo/radiation and then there's no more cancer? What makes it a chronic illness. Trying to understand. Thanks!

When cancer is caught in early stages and/or it is localized, then the goal is cure. As you said, ideally to remove it with surgery and sometimes followup with chemo/radiation and have it be gone for good. Often that is not possible. In that case there are many options, pharmaceutical, radiation etc that enable people to live many years while being treated although not curing/eradicating the disease totally

Of course not! Like I said, I had to cut or combine so many categories. I was thinking in the direction of klal work... Work that is done from the good of your heart, not for a paycheck.

Sorry, I know you didn't mean it at all but it just rubbed me the wrong way. I do work in kiruv and it's a huge problem in the field that women are underpaid or expected to volunteer their skills and services out of the goodness of our hearts. Yes of course I care about Klal Yisrael, that's why I love the work that I do - but I'd like to be compensated fairly as well!
