We will be coming in for the summer and are looking for a simple, solid day camp for our boys. They are not going to know other kids, so we want a small, warm place.

We'd probably be considered Yeshivish for that area.

What kind of kids go there?
Who runs it?
How old are the counselors?
What does an average day's schedule look like?
Do they have any swimming? Other extras aside for learning and sports?

If anyone can share, I'd be so grateful.

It's a good camp albeit a very basic camp. No majorly exciting trips etc. Good comfortable environment for younger boys, but maybe not so exciting for older boys.

The boys that go there are more yeshivish type.

It's smallish. I think it's a pretty warm place, but that probably depends more on who your son's Rebbe and counselor is. Personally, I sent my son there some years back (4-5 summers ago, I don't recall exactly) and I wasn't so happy with the Rebbe he had, but I found the head staff to be overall very nice and easy to talk to. You can probably call and ask who your sons would have as a Rebbe if that's a consideration for you.

Good Luck!

Thank you so much for responding. It sounds like it could work for us.

Do you know if they provide lunch? Busing?

Do you have contact info for them?
Who is the head staff?

They definitely do provide lunch, and as I recall, the food is very decent.

Don't know anything about their bussing. I walked there.

Rabbi Brafman z"l, who was the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva of Far Rockaway, used to run it until he sadly passed away a couple years ago. I'm not sure who runs it now. It's located in, and affiliated with, Yeshiva of Far Rockaway (on Hicksville Rd), so maybe call their office and ask for contact info.
