DD had 4 hospital discharges in last 5 months.
The summaries all have a bunch of wasted paper, like heart health and smoking cessation and other very important information that is very shayich for my 6 month old...
ok, it lists her medication (none, unless you count her multivitamin and tylenol prn Rolling Eyes)
and mentions the fact that she has xyz and to follow up with dr.

any reason to save? (ftr, I threw out 3 already)

No. I work in healthcare. If you needed it you could always get from medical records

You don't need to save them. You can always acesss them online or call medical records at the hospital.

I usually take a picture with my cell phone and save it in a folder on the computer.

Even though you cna always access it later, a few years down the line if you have several different ones of these you need to dig up for a specialist appt, you'll be glad you have a digital copy in one place. (If you can't tell, this just happened to me recently when I had to gather several of these from different hospitals/doctors from over several years).

But no need to save the paper copy.

my question is- why would I ever need it again? it has no significant info. the only discharge papers that had pertinent info is the one from her first discharge (after a 2 month nicu/picu stay) which wasn't even given to me, just faxed to her dr. I happen to have gotten it b/c dr. didn't get fax so they sent it to me and I gave it to dr. (and that I am saving of course)

Hard to say, I don't know if you'd ever need it, because I don't know what the hospitalization was for or what the papers say. That's why digital copies are good, they don't' create any mess for you. I just have a computer folder for each of our medical records, with the file name labeled as what it is. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

I heard Yemima Mizrachi shiur. She says to burn it with the chametz to nullify the medical problems. Since Pesach is so close you may want to do that

I scan everything and keep it in a folder in the cloud with each child's name.
