what's the inherent difference? when do you use which?

I use bread crumbs for thickness, such as in burgers or meatballs. For the crunch or taste I would use corn flake crumbs, like when I make schnitzel. It tastes so much better!

It's a matter of taste.
I personally love cornflake crumbs for coatings.
And use breadcrumbs as a binder for meatballs and meatloaf.

I would get corn flake crumbs. Personally, I use that much much more
