There is the one about the two roads diverging in the yellow wood. Snow is not yellow, where I come from. So he did get to autumn, at least.

Can I tell you a story about yellow snow? 🤣

Well, I live in a city with an average annual snowfall of 82 inches and 60 days of measurable snow. The magic usually wears off by January.

Courtesy of Frank Zappa:

Dreamed I was an eskimo
Frozen wind began to blow
Under my boots and around my toes
The frost that bit the ground below
It was a hundred degrees below zero...

And my mama cried
And my mama cried
Nanook, a-no-no
Nanook, a-no-no
Don't be a naughty eskimo
Save your money, don't go to the show

Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said ho, ho
And the northern lights commenced to glow
And she said, with a tear in her eye

Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow
Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow

I feel very cloasterphobic & locked in when we have such a major snow. I get anxious being alone with the kids while DH is at work....
if he's home with me I do love the snow, but today we really got it hard!

I live in Florida, after many years of living in very snowy climates.

It is the best ever. I never liked snow and don't miss it one tiny bit. Zero bundling up when going outside, ever. On the coldest days we might need a sweatshirt for a couple hours of the day. The kids can play outside on every day of the year. Sundays are spent at the park, at the water, or in the pool year round.
I never have to spend time shoveling my walk, shoveling out the car in morning, saving parking spaces, etc. No driving in blizzards. I get the chills just thinking about how awful the snow experience is. I never want to go back to that type of life and quite frankly I'm surprised so many pple put up with those awful weather conditions and don't just move here en mass.

I love the snow, the excitement of the kids, the divergence from routine, knowing the world is ferocious outside while I am safe inside.

I was feeling kinda cozy and saying "Thank you Hashem that I don't need to go out."

Then there was lightning and a very close and very long and very loud thunder! But BH only one.

Then my Internet went down. Talk about first world problems. I might have dug out my knitting but a bit later I reset the router and all was good. Though I don't like how much I depend on my Internet. For instance, I was about to email my phone service person to see how long it would be out...

BizzyDizzy, if it weren't hours later I'd tell you about cooking with tea lights (though I understand you should not do so if your oven has a glass door...) but if your stove is gas you can probably make cookies or pizza in some kind of improvised Wonderpot.

For a while when our toaster oven was broken we used to heat frozen pizza in a frying pan.

I love the snow! Only not for car parking!

Not this snow because it's slush water, but I have brought snow in to my house in a big pot so that my daughter can play with it for a few minutes if we don't go outside.

I loved the snow today, it was the most breathtaking view ever. There's a certain serenity in the air. Mah rabbi masechu hashem! I went out with my kids and we had a great time shoveling (it did not last long) and making an igloo. I was pretty exhausted afterwards and I'm already feeling every muscle. But, it was well worth it.
I have to admit I don't enjoy the mess there's boots, gloves, hats, shawls, socks and snow pants all over. Everything is wet and kids keep on going in and out. But, it only lasts a few days and the memories are everlasting.

Writing from Israel, where we are experiencing a heat wave. 85F. No snow.

A few Shabbatot ago we got enough hail to cover the ground and make it look somewhat white. We heard all the residents of all the apartments on the block opening up their windows to look outside.

I grew up in Montreal, and I'm in Jerusalem now
I really miss the beautiful, peaceful white snow days, I miss playing in the snow all day and coming home red -cheeked and sweaty.
I would love to give my kids that experience, but I think one snow day off from school and work would calm my craving Wink

I love snow. There's magic and wonder in those white flakes of nothing. Wrapping the world in an ethereal pure glow. snow, snow, snow... but when it turns a yucky black that's a whole 'nother story...

I love the snow. This storm really took the cake this season. It was epic!

Though the snow has plenty of its downsides in the aftermath. It takes lots of shoveling and hard work getting back to routine. Now before pesach, not so much fun! It’s still magical and literally a masterpiece that only Hashem can create!! ❄️❄️⛄️⛄️
