An acre is maybe 1/4-1/3 of a city block. A big block maybe even 1/2.

it's a significant amount of land. If you are talking about a house, it feels different if there are lots of trees or just grassy area. We b"H have an acre of land but lots of it is "forest" so it doesn't have to be mowed Wink

Thanks!
Would need to be at least 3 acres at a minimum but more like 10 or more, to provide privacy.
Where can one find for cheap, in a rural area? To park an RV. Or a piece of land with an existing home.

I can't imagine why one would want/need to live on 10 acres! That's almost unheard of! Even 3 acres is huge.

To ensure there's plenty of space to muffle the neighbors' noise.

An acre = 43,560 square feet.

It's probably easier to use a white noise machine and get really good sound insulation than to move to a 3-10 acre property, unless you really do want to live in a very rural area.

If it is one specific neighbor who is bothering you (and assuming you have the $ to buy a 10-acre plot of land), maybe it would be easier if you just buy his house.

You can demolish it and plant trees. Or make it into a plant nursery or garden.

We live on about 3/4 of an acre and NEVER hear our neighbors. We also have chickens, rabbits, a very large vegetable garden, 2 sheds, a large swing set, and still most of our yard left to play in. And mow. Yes mow. It takes FOREVER. and then it grows back. If you're thinking of any property larger than an acre you're going to need a tractor/ride on mower for sure.

An area with houses on ten acre lots isn't likely to have a shul in walking distance. Is privacy more important than being part of a religious community?

Not that you need anywhere near that size lot to avoid noise from the neighbors. Is something else going on here?

U can barely hear nighbors on 1 acre, let alone 3-10! Hope ur not into anything illegal....
Don't you want to have neighbors? Do you have kids? Don't they need neighbors to play with?? 10 acres is like a 10 minute walk.

It's not for a family. It's for a woman who works 24/7 (almost), for the klal, and wants to have a quiet spot away from civilization, to get a few nights of sleep about once or twice a month or so. She might want to spend her time gardening- so she might want to plant some fruit trees and vegetable patches, tbd.

If that's the case, not a bad plan at all! But do realize that 10 acres is humongous & most likely extremely expensive.
