I like to have my own seat on the bus when. Possible. Is it rude when someone asks to sit in my seat & there are plenty empty seats on the bus, to politely saw no?

What do you mean your own seat? Are they asking you to give up your seat for them when there are other seats available? Do they want to squeeze in and share a single seat with you? Or are you talking about when you're sitting on one side of the seats that come in banks of two and they want to sit in the other one? Because if that's the case, yes it's rude. You have your one seat and are not entitled to decline a passenger the right to sit in the one next to you.

It's rude. If the seat is available, you should let the person have it, even if you don't like it.
