Toddler helped himself to vaseline. His hair is full. His hair is still a piece of oil after bathing. How do I get it out??

You're going to have go use some some dish soap to break down the oils.

Thx! Didn't think of that!
Does it work after 1 bath?

It should. A shower would be nice if he allows it so he doesn't sit in bubbles (especially if we were talking about a girl). You may need to wash and rinse a few times.

Dawn dish soap is the best. It will cut through anything, but won't harm his skin.

I agree with dish soap. Dawn or palmolive. Afterwards the hair might be like steel wool. Use conditioner one or two times.

My ds did this when he was 2yo. He was so proud of how "shiny" it was. It honestly took a few weeks of regular washing to get it back to normal. If the dish soap doesnt get it ungreasy enough I wonder if baking soda in water as a wash would help, or 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinagar in a bunch of water. I know people who do that stuff stam. But don't worry it will get out eventually.

Dish soap, like dawn, works best. However you have to be really careful not to get it in eyes! I knew of a kid who went to the hospital after dish soap got into his eyes after someone put it on a slip-and-slide water game. Use very cautiously!

After you apply the dish soap, you can also go through the hair with a lice comb to help get off the gunk
