Does anyone have any idea how to go about making pear pie filling?

You can probably do same as apples. Chop into pieces. Boil in little water or grape juice. Add some sugar or raspberry syrup and cinnamon. Little orange juice or lemon juice optional. Keep simmering on low til gets very soft. Combine 1 tbsp pot starch w 3 tbsp water and add. It will get much thicker when it cools

You can toss the pears in a mixture of about 3/4 c sugar (if you want it really sweet like pie filling) and 1/4 c potato starch for about 8 pears and let sit for 15 min.
If you like a more natural pie, you can just sprinkle some orange juice over the sliced pears before adding the sweet crumb topping.
