It was freezing in NY. It was boiling when we landed in Israel so all the sweatshirts came off and went in the coats bag, so I know the coats made it to the airport. I remember having the with us when we stopped at the bathroom too. I THINK they came with us out of the bathroom area but that's where my 100% certainty ends. I THINK I had them until baggage claim, put them down to get the suitcase off the carousel, and didn't pick it up again but it wasn't there when I went back to check. Now it is cold and we have no sweaters  Neither ElAl nor airport lost and found has seen them.
