I once thought I overheard someone saying they put crushed candies on top or something of the sort. Not sure. Any way to take store bought brownies, chocolate roll cakes or the like and do something with them a little more interesting/tasty?

Maybe fresh fruit on the sides with some slices on top.

Serve the chocolate roll cake slices with strawberries.
For brownies you can crush peppermint candies and sprinkle on top if it's fudgy or better yet, garnish with hazelnut crunch. Maybe drizzle a confectioners sugar glaze on top first.
