Hi everyone. I need some nice regular meal ideas. For my kids, one of whom packs a school lunch, and myself, who is home all day and gets starving and stares at fridge and freezer and can’t think what to eat!!
Since pesach (and I was on whole 30 before that) I’m just burned out from cooking and preparing.
I need to know what y’all make- even if it’s pb and j. Spill!
I don’t need suppers as that I have a list of my regulars. But I don’t like eating fleishigs during the day onky at night.
Do u pack lunch to take to work? Do u make yourself lunch at home every day? What do you eat? Do you have a few things you make weekly so there’s always something homemade to eat? Like soup or s/t?
Meal prep?
Please help!

I make things to eat for lunch- lentils with brown rice, soup, lasagna, quiche etc that last for a bunch of days for my husband and me

If I didn’t do that I make a breakfast burrito with eggs and avacado and salsa and a tortilla ( can add beans and cheese) or a quinoa burger from Trader Joe’s with some fresh fruit and veggies on the side or I have lox and crackers and Israeli salad or granola with fruit and yogurt and then a few smaller meals like peanut butter and apple, a banana, a harbdoiled egg etc

I don't feel hungry to eat breakfast but I always love my 2 English muffin with egg for lunch. Even I often make it for dh for his lunch, I put it in a zip lock baggies and he likes it even room temp not heated. But he eats 3! Oh and a banana every lunch for him.

Today, for the first time, I made myself a real lunch that’s not a sandwich, eggs or leftovers.
I took out a frozen tilapia last night and cooked it for my lunch today. I think I’ll keep this up, less carbs. Maybe I’ll try a salad.
(I have a lot of weight to lose)

Pitta with cheese and sliced tomato and a few sprinkled herbs. Melted in the microwave. My standby. And then some raw veg, carrot, cucumber etc, whatever I feel like munching on. A fruit for dessert.

Much like others.
You need a list of 8 things and trade off.
If you can afford it it helps to buy sliced carrots....bagged greens...mange tout....cherry tomatoes. Saves u slicing veg. I buy a bit like that and add sliced veg to a ziplock every day and take to work to back up my lunch.

Avacado and crackers/toast with sliced tomatoe.
Yogourt and berries/granola.
Houmas and flatbreads/rice crackers witg slice veg
Eggs or shakshuka
Tinned salmon or tuna with salad.
Salad with cheese and croutons.
Dips and crackers and veg
Quinoa salad.
If u like salmon/fish and buy fresh. You can grill and freeze portions. Very filling for lunch with some houmas and crackers

When I was watching my food and eating healthy these were my lunches.

Different types of salads that contained protein. For example:

Greek salad , no pasta just veggies with feta cheese
Marinated salad with chickpeas
Cottage cheese with Israeli Salad
Tuna with a lettuce, tomatoe and cucumber salad
Salmon with salad and honey mustard dressing
Kani Salad with lettuce, avocado, and kirbies
Grilled chicken salad
Greek yogurts and fruit

When there was no time for salad I do sandwiches like:

Muenster cheese, lettuce and tomatoe on whole wheat bread

Tuna , lettuce and pickle on whole wheat bread or in a whole wheat pita

Cheese Omelet on whole wheat bread

Cream cheese , slices of tomatoe and chives on whole wheat bread

Avocado on whole wheat toast

Peanut butter and whole wheat bread

lately I eat one of these options or something similar
-lettuce, tomato, mayo on toasted english muffin
-lentils warmed up with taco seasoning and tortilla chips, sour cream, salsa, avocado
-mashed potatoes with fried up mushrooms and onions and a little sour cream or sprinkle of cheese
-something leftover from supper the night before

I make my husband a big salad for work and my kids have so many fruits and veggies in their lunches, I need to incorporate the fruits and veggies back into my diet. I did have some blueberries with breakfast this morning, thats a start.

Today I had a quinoa salad with avocado and tomatoes with a lemony dressing. So filling, healthy and easy to prepare. Just cook the quinoa the night before and throw everything else in in the morning.
You can also make a variety of salads with lettuce by using lots of canned chickpeas, hearts of palm, mushrooms etc. You wont have to chop any veggies so you'll save lots of time. You can throw it together in the morning.

sometimes dinner leftovers, some times I make a quinoa salad with feta, there is a rice/lentil/chickpea dish in the First Silver platter that makes a really filling lunch with feta cheese added to it. Cheese or humus on rice cakes or crackers is what I keep in my desk for when I forget lunch.
