Have a family member going through a temporary medical issue who can't easily use stairs right now. He can physically do it, but it completely exhausts him. Unfortunately, there's a flight of stairs to get out of his apartment (a basement one).
What I'm wondering is, has anyone used a chair lift in their home, and if so, is there a particular brand/type they'd recommend? Also, is it possible to rent them? He lives in NYC, if that affects your responses.
Additionally, if anyone knows of any other devices that could help, or have any other useful advice, that would be lovely.
Thanks, and Tizku L'Mitzvot
