We have a relative who is about to celebrate her 100th birthday, K'AH. She is a Holocaust survivor and very "with it," although starting to slow down, understandably. Her son is making her a birthday party next week, and I would love to give her a meaningful and/or useful gift. She has already lost a child and she has no grandchildren, unfortunately, so albums, family movies and ideas along those lines are not "happy" things for her.
Can you help me brainstorm?

Would she enjoy a restaurant meal or a manicure? She might enjoy spending time with you and experiencing a fun outing. If she's not up to it, disregard my suggestions.

Thanks Jflower- we do take her out for dinner every now and then. She also gets her hair and nails done weekly, and dresses to the nines. She is a real lady.

Thanks Six- that is an interesting idea. I know she enjoyed music and going to concerts with her husband (and she had the requisite vinyl record collection when I visited her as a little girl)...will consider that one.
