You can use any egg noodles but the now ties seem to work best.

Okay thanks. What do you think of doing noodles with this recipe (minus the raisins)? Would it go? I think my family might find the plain salt pepper too bland...

I need one more light milchig recipe, and I have a container of ricotta cheese that I'm not sure what to do with. Suggestions?

I really don't know much about the sauteed cabbage recipe posted.
The cabbage and noodles is not just salt and pepper.

I'm not done figuring it out but here''s what I have planned:

I am roasting a turkey breast. That will be two meals. I am making salmon and will serve it hit once, making extra w idea that if we want, we can have it again, possibly on a Caesar salad. I am grilling a.piece of London broil for London broil salad. We will probably be invited out at least once.

Side dishes will be wild rice salad, roasted baby potatoes, roasted asparagus, roasted baby pepper, beet arugula salad, sesame quinoa, spinach feta bread......

Desserts will be strawberry rhubarb crisp, brownies, and for the milchig meal, ricotta cake. If there's a second milchig meal we will have iced coffee with ice cream.

Raisin, Ra_Mom, Etky, thanks! Those recipes sound delicious. Sadly, my picky people here won't eat spinach Sad

I decided to give it your recipe a go in the end and it came out delicious.

However, I only had the thin short egg noodles so I just did it with that. I'm scared it will get completely dried out on the hotplate. How should I warm it up so that it stays moist?

Make a double boiler with 2 disposable pans. The one underneath should have 1/2 inch water. The one on top should have the cabbage and noodles and be sealed with silver foil before putting into the pan of water.

Slice eggplant lengthwise. Salt, sweat, pat dry.
Bake or fry.
Fill with 2 heaping tablespoons filling. Roll and pin. Brush with oil. Bake at 400 about 25 min. Spoon warm marinara over after baking.
Or spoon marinara and shredded cheese on before baking.

A good filling is
16 oz ricotta, 10 oz defrosted, squeezed out spinach (or 2/3 of a 16 oz pkg), optional 8 oz shredded cheese, 1 egg, 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp each oregano and salt.

This is the method I use to warm up almost everything over Yom Tov.

I cannot contain my excitement over olive tapenade that I made for the first time! Why am I so thrilled about this? I don't know--maybe because it seems super fancy.

Seriously, I'm counting down the hours until I serve it.

...if I don't eat it all before the guests arrive.
