Tiny & Feisty baby
hooked up
monitors tubes & leads
Iv's in hands and legs
tubes down her nose
all to keep her alive,
breathing for her
giving her nutrition
giving her life.
and then,
surgery
2 permanent holes
in my perfect child
cut into her neck & stomach
to breathe safely
to get food, to grow
lots of precautions
special care
and different needs
more surgeries & MRI's
Finally,
Homecoming
with
equipment galore
now, an open house
nurses day & night
privacy no more
appointments non stop
more hospitilazions
when oh when
to normal times we yearn
but
Ein od milvado
we believe
miracles
yes,
miracles
thriving
growing
despite all
pain
for her
pain
for us
but,
we will get there
one day
be'H
we will
the mountain
fully ascend
we will
throw off the shackles
of sickness
of sorrow
of all tubes & monitors
& deafening beeps
happily
rejoicing
in our miracle
