Okay, community mavens, here's the challenge. Where would we fit? We want:
A diverse community: mix of levels of observance on the orthodox spectrum, mix of backgrounds (BT/FFB/Jews of Color/etc.)
High level of secular education
Not keeping-up-with-the-Cohens
City-like atmosphere: access to the amenities of a big city, able to walk to run errands, not so suburban that you must drive
People who have strong Torah values but can also see the world beyond the ends of their own noses
If we were willing to move anywhere in the world (let's assume jobs and money were not an issue), where would you recommend?

If money is no barrier you can almost for sure find your niche somewhere in the greater Jerusalem region.

Here in Detroit we have most of those things but not all of those things. We have all types of Yidden here including Jews of color. We don't keep up with the neighbors and many families here don't appear to be big spenders and live quite simply and if you want to be in a big spending crowd, we have that too.
However, it is not urban but is suburban. You need a car in order to live here. There is grocery delivery from the kosher store and from some of the frum pharmacies. I personally walk to a lot of places here on nice days but it is not like crowded city streets where you see the mass of humanity out shopping.

Fellow Modi'in-er! Agree completely but you have to choose your neighborhood wisely.
