I am looking into renovating a big room into a kitchen/eating area and adding a small second floor. I am looking for an architect who is good at using small spaces optimally and a contractor who you have had personal positive experience with and would recommend to others. I am limited financially.

Any warm recommendations?

I can personally (and warmly!) Recommend Sendy Neuwirth. He's really good at what he does. He's easy to communicate with and will not go over budget.
Hatzalcha!
His number is 917-604-6254

I'm also looking for an architect to draw a blueprint. Does he do that? Do you have anyone you could recommend?

Thanks a lot.

You need your blueprint from an architect or a space planner.
He will want to see your plans before giving an estimate.

There are two ways contractors work. Set budget, or flexible but overcharge you, because it's hard to be exact, they give u an estimate and then adjust. The ones who do set budget do the cheapest way of doing things and they cut corners. So beware.

Sofier is currently not taking new clients. Any other ideas for architects/space planners?
