Can anyone tell me about the neighborhood? How many families are there? Hashkafa? general safeness? close to schools and shuls and gorceries?

It's on the border of Kew Gardens, and walk-able to kew gardens depending on where.
I think for schools, you'd be asking about the Queens schools. Kew Gardens is a more yeshivish type of community. For shuls, depends what's nearby

Yes definitely the kids would be in queens schools. How many families live in the area? What is general area like? Would I be able to walk after dark?

Its considered part of "Kew Gardens" which is smaller than Kew Gardens Hills, but people are moving to that side. Its not in practical walking distance of the Hills, but it has a boy school and girls school it tends to be more yeshivish. I see frum people walking to Forest Park which is on the border of Richmond Hill and Glendale.
