My almost 6 yr old has been counting down to his birthday party practically since his last birthday, most certainly since his older brother's birthday party when he got lots of birthday presents. Now we are moving out of state like 2 weeks after his birthday, how do we handle the birthday present aspect in a way that we won't get tons of new stuff right before the truck comes? We are not going straight to our new house so I don't know when he will get to play with any new toys. What to do?

Can you make his party early?
My dd of the same age has her bday in July, but prefers to have her party in school like the rest of the class, so we celebrate in June.

Why can’t he have a regular party and get the regular presents and you’ll pack it all in a box labeled kids bday and when you get around to it you will unpack it.
