Can someone please tell me why the advertiser of the affordable mountain retreat insists that each and every poster contact her to pm her for rates? Is it the same price for everyone? Does it depend on how kind you are , or how you word your request? Do we need to see 4 pages of posts asking to pm her with price requests? Why all the secrecy. I totally don't get it. And why isn't anyone allowed to share pricing or post it here?

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

And where's the affordable mountain retreat for the Litivsh thread?

(Seriously, I wish everyone well parnasa-wise and hope everyone has a rejuvenating summer.)

What do you mean?

I have no right to see the pricing just because I may/may not be able to afford it?

It caters exclusively to only certain type of people?

Clearly it’s a big secret. So big, I’m not even tempted to want to know.

Most of these programs require you to fill out some info to get rates. By seeing your name, address etc they get an idea if you will 'fit in' to the crowd.

How else do they keep the program 'heimish'?

She means that the reason they're not advertising prices is because the prices are high and if they were freely advertised most people would dismiss the ad right off the bat before looking into it further.

I don't want to give out my personal information and have some random stranger know my usename, and my location and demographics before being given a price. Is this an " exclusive " event? Is price determined by my street address and zip? It's not open to all frum people?

This is not an unusual practice. Most pesach programs do the same.

The risk the place takes in not giving out rates freely is that they will loose some potential customers. Like you apparently.

She is giving rates after people PM her. I don't think shes' profiling.

Whatever they think they're accomplishing by doing it, they are probably doing the opposite. It's only alienating people. It's distasteful.

I would imagine they're using everyone's info to build an email list that they can advertise to.

There's no firm at all. Go to the website, click on the hyperlink to get pricing and just give your name and email address. If your name isn't heimish enough you can easily make one up as they have no way of verifying it.

Just a poor marketing decision imnsho...

Chill, everyone.....
it's a low-budget way of building up a mailing list that they can then use for future products they might pitch to the same people.

in response to the reactions here the advertiser has decided to post a list of the prices in a member only , non googleable forum, exclusively for Imamother members.
Price list will be posted soon.

How do they get email addresses by PMing people here? And I can make up an email address that’s as fake as my persona here.
