How does it work with starting with a new pediatrician? I won't be able to take the kids for physicals because they all had within the last few months so insurance won't cover it. On the other hand, I don't want to wait for someone to get sick to try and get in with a new doctor. Do you just call the office and ask to have your kids become patients? Or do you have to bring them in for a check up?

Why don't you call the office and ask how you can become established patients given the circumstances? You will need your previous medical records sent over once you're in touch with them.

Call the office and ask what their policy is.
Our new pediatrician told us not to bring them in until they get sick or we need something.
Don't forget to transfer vaccination records. We also gave the new pediatrician a summary of the previous well visit from the old doctor which was helpful to see growth.
