I've always translated that as 'rich' not 'wealthy' I guess for me those words have different meanings. Rich is aspirational. Wealthy just is.

I consider rich and wealthy to be synonyms.

According to Oxford dictionary:

Definition of rich in English:
** Having a great deal of money or assets; wealthy. **

Maybe they do have slightly different connotations though.

We make a lot more then 50 thousand and we still struggle, especially now our kids have hit seminary/yeshiva age. We do have a few kids kah though. If we just had 2 or 3 kids, (and were not sending to OOT yeshivas,) we would be doing well.

Germany sounds amazing benefits wise. (you forgot to mention university is free there!) Alas I don't live in such a socialist utopia but still a million miles better then the US. I think food is also cheaper in Germany then in most other european countries.

Food is extremely cheap here. When we go to France we almost get a heart attack in the supermarket because things are 3 times as much at least. You know how you know Germany is cheap? People who who are on welfare get their rent and health insurance paid and then 417 euros a month spending money. And they manage so well that they can still go on a nice vacation once a year.
Also kindergarten is free starting this year.
And yes university which is super important since it gives everyone a chance to get a great job afterwards.
Besides the political situation and obviously the history, Germany is a great place to live. We still want to move because I can't stand the feeling of always worrying about the kids here.
But if I wasn't Jewish I'd love it here!
