Don't want to hack the other thread.
We are thinking of doing Niagara over a weekend. We would leave brooklyn Thursday night and leave Niagara sunday night. Would that work? Would we be able to do stuff or is it not worth it?
Also looking for hotel ideas for over shabbos and what to do on shabbos.
TIA!

Chabad does a beautiful Shabbos. But for me it's a big drive for such a short stay

For me it's not worth the drive for such a short stay, especially over shabbos. There isn't much you can do.

It would be short and packed, but doable. Friday is a long enough day that you can do a lot on Friday. If you leave Sunday night, you would have a full day Sunday. I would do it if this was my only option. If I were staying walking distance to the Falls, then on Shabbos I could take a walk over there. You would have to be organized and plan out an itenerary to get in what you want, but I do think that two days of touring is enough. I would do anything on the American Side on Sundayafternoon like Cave of the Winds to avoid going over the border twice.

Look at Chabad's website. They often have deals with a local hotel like Sheraton, and may even have an eiruv between that hotel and their shul where they daven and eat, but they don't offer their own lodging. As an avid traveler, I'd be hesitant about such an ambitious itinerary, especially if there are kids involved. It's a LONG drive, so if you don't get in until late Thursday night, you'll be tired Friday and have a hard time enjoying it. Would you consider flying to/from Buffalo and renting a car to give you more time there?

Back in the day.... people thought it 'worth it' to go to Niagara just to behold the falls....
