Why do people not flush the toilet?
This is not a joke question, I am actually really curious to know why on earth someone would do their business and not flush afterward. Any insight appreciated.

My father didn’t because he thought it saved money on water bills.

"He thought" as in, he was wrong?
It definitely saves money.
But...we all flush anyway.

I went through a stage as a child where I was scared of the noise.
Other than that...can't think of any reason one wouldn't.

Maybe some people don’t flush at night so as not to wake people up.

I go to the bathroom an average of 5 times a night. If my husband is traveling for work I don't flush till morning. I think it saves water and no one uses the bathroom but me.

It’s hard for my little ones to push the button. So it can’t be part of potty training. The older ones usually flush.
Often kids (or us) are in a hurry and forget.
As long as hands are washed, I’ll flush it myself.
