I specifically read that you shouldn't (I don't have to be told twice not to wash dishes so it doesn't bother me if that's machmir)

I was told re dishes, if I need something (like a bottle) for my kid I could wash it then with gloves. But general washing dishes shouldn't be done and for sure not before chatzos, similar to the shitta that says no household chores.
Re makeup- no. Its shmearing/anointing.

Agree with keym about not cleaning until after chatzos. Aylor about makeup - mine says it’s ok and I’ve definitely seen many people wearing.

I don't see why smearing is an issue. It's not Shabbat/Yom Tov. Anointing and adorning yourself is the issue.

Just because you've seen many people wearing makeup doesn't mean it's ok or allowed .

I learned that makeup and deodorant are both assur because of the issur of sicha.
Dishes, for sure not before chatzos, but after chatzos - Ask.

Just want to point out as a Dan lkaf zchus. Some of my makeup is still on because I couldn't wash it after shabbos. So if you see a woman with some lipstick or eye makeup you don't have to assume she put it on fresh.

My rav said it’s ok so for me it does mean it’s ok and allowed.
