I've had mono come back, not as bad as originally, but still very symptomatic. I hope for your child's sake its something else and will go away shortly.

Honestly, five days is not that long. I wouldn't even consider mono at that point. Most likely just a virus she has to kick.

I don't remember exact details, but after not feeling well for a while, I was tested and positive for mono again. I was feeling better than the first time around, and it went away sooner. Now the mono is always in my blood tests and as long as the numbers don't go higher, I am not considered positive.

update, the bloodwork came back and initial bloodwork said lyme disease! but my dr called me back and said that was the knitial screening and the second test said no lyme. he said that it can be from the fact that esptein barr still shows up in her blood (is that mono?!). or the fact that it shows up with false positives. the markers for mono werent very high. also he said there was a slight abnormality in her urine but not enough to be concerned. im so confused.

hes waiting for more results from the lyme tomorrow, and also wants to see us back on Wednesday

You need to get to a Lyme disease specialist from ILADS because Lyme is very hard to diagnose properly.

I'm surprised your doctor tested for lyme after 5 days of fever, I'm a very anxious medical mom and I wouldn't think much of it if the child was otherwise acting fine. Is there a specific reason he suspected lyme? Can you get a copy of all the lab results? Do you know what he was basing on saying that there's a chance it's lyme? If you suspect lyme, you would need to go to a lyme literate MD for a proper diagnosis, most regular MDs have no idea how to diagnose.

My friend just had this and turns out that her son has silent pneumonia or otherwise known as walking pneumonia. Apparently going around in Lakewood now. Taking strong antibiotics

Well, he ran a whole panel of bloodwork since I was concerned about the fever, and general not feeling well. After the 5 days of fever which BH stopped, she continues to be super drowsy and Shleppy, with a diminished appetite. She randomly falls asleep on the couch for 2 hours or so, which is highly unusual. Its already about 12 or 13 days . How do I find a lyme specialist? I have the bloodwork but don't exactly know how to read it? What am I looking for?

Also, she had mono in the past so the markers still show up for it.

Having a difficult time clearing EBV is quite typical for someone with lyme disease. You can search for an LLMD here https://www.ilads.org/

On the bloodwork it would a western blot, igg or igm specific to lyme. There are others too.

That being said, I still wouldn't necessarily suspect lyme with the symptoms you're mentioning. I'd look for other infections.

Yes thats why my dr doesnt think its lymes. Going back to see him in a few days. The EBV is from a year or 2 ago but he said the markers arent significantly raised, more like it just shows up in her bloodwork that she had it..
