We are going away but only because I am on vacation after tomorrow and we had our trip planned already. So it wasn't specifically because of Shabbos Nachamu.

You all forgot one reason people go upstate. Shabbos nachamu usually coincides with visiting Sunday. So we would make a nice weekend of it.

We are staying home and it’s no fun any more because the city doesn’t empty out like it used to.

we are staying home. I live OOT and I feel like everyone is checking out. The thing is even if we wanted to we couldn't go away due one of my children having medical appointments with a specialist.

On top of all this.

Google has informed me that it will be raining in the Catskills over the weekend. While in Brooklyn, where I'm staying, the weather will nebach be sunny.

As if the shame hasn't been enough.

I happen to love being in Lakewood in the summer. Traffic is so much lighter. It used to be more so - but still is a change.

Honestly I did want to have guests. I have a kid in sleep away camp so now have a guest bedroom. But it didn’t work out.

For my kids it’s vwry quiet on Shabbos as all their friends are away. And grandparents. But I think it’s healthy to have a down Shabbos once in a while.

Not giving 18 kids Shabbos party and supervising is a vacation for me. Flower
