Try using the kids in mind website if there's a movie you are not sure about.

They are really good about explaining what's the potential issues in a movie (in terms of family friendly viewing), covering both current movies and older ones on videos.
Generally speaking, old musicals can sometimes be good for family viewing, but the ones with romantic subplots may need a bit more pre-checking.
Have you tried Mary Poppins? Leap (a cartoon about a girl who wants to be a ballerina) may work for you as well, depending on how you feel about a couple of very mild flirty things
