Would you recommend going to Providence, Rhode Island for vacation? Have you ever spent Shabbos there?

If you're already in providence, why not go to Newport where there's a lot to see and do?

We were in Newport already. The nice hotels in Newport for Shabbos are $$$$$

Sure, it depends what you like to do. In Providence, per se, there is aren't so many interesting things, but in the surrounding area, there is a ton.
What types of things do you like to do?
Are you travelling with children?
Yes, I've spent a number of shabbosim in Providence.
you can look for an air bnb in the vicinty of a shul, which you might find, depending on the weekend. Alternativley, the Marriot Downtown is about a mile away from Chabad. You can ask for a room on a low floor and for the staff to help you with the electronic door.

If you want a nice place to go near RI besides Newport, look into Block Island (though there's no Jewish community there for Shabbos).
