Having read similar discussions on sites open to men, I haven't seen any evidence that they understand any better than we do.

There is nothing to understand about this. That's why!
I just got an epiphany here!
The reason why it's not understandable is because..........................
it's a "Chok". A man made one.

Ahh. I like that.
Hear, hear we got an answer to this ongoing question that has stumped millions for so many years: IT'S A MAN MADE CHOK. LOL

Now everyone can sleep easy knowing the answer to this age old question.

Maybe I am not the biggest know it all but the most visibly chassidish woman I have seen driving was wearing a (big) band on her sheitel but I haven't seen someone with a shpitzel yet...

I am planning on doing it. With a shpitzel.

Even a 'shpitzel' won't protect you these days if you drive.
So of course the decline starts with the driving.
The proof is in the pudding!
totally sarcastic for those....

I have heard many reasons as to why women cannot drive. Not one was logically sound. Here are the reasons and the fallacies behind them:
A) there is a lot of interaction between drivers.
Answer: there is a lot of interaction between me and a car service driver. More, actually.
B) a women is a princess who should not be chauffeuring herself.
Answer: right, cuz when I am shlepping on the bus with ten bags a screaming baby and 2 toddlers it's totally dignified.
C) You can see a woman in the car window.
Answer: you can see MUCH more when she is walking down the street her hips swaying.
D) driving is a man's domain and therefore "past es nisht "
Answer: logically viable. In the 1930's that is.
E) It's not accepted and will therefore garner attention.
Answer: again, logically viable in Williamsburg and Monroe. In Monsey? Not so much.
F) women could find themselves stranded on an empty road and potentially be raped.
Answer: sadly, there have beeen many more stories of women being assaulted by their drivers.
G) women could go to bad places.
Answer: so could men. And you could technically go with a taxi.
H) women would be out on the streets more often if it was so convenient.
Answer: the way the world is today, they are anyway. My husband works until nine. Who do you think has to take care of everything? Me. And am on the street much longer since I have to wait for cars to arrive and walk.
I) it's an aggressive thing driving, and won't bring out a nice side of women.
Answer: it doesn't have to be.

There you have it. Debunked.

Truth? It made sense when the rule was made (refer to D and E) but doesn't anymore. Everyone is scared to change it though cuZ of mesorah

Btw, there's a women in my neighborhood wearing a shpitzel And she's driving. But she's older, all her kids are married.
There are some shpitzlach in Bnos Derech Yisroel, maybe these women will eventually drive. But they're not the typical shpitzel wearing women.

Why would you be moser nefesh to send your child to a school run by people who treat the parents like babies?

Not me, but some ppl, their dh's belong to the chassidus shul, they went to the chassidus cheder/yeshiva/kollel, the wives went to the chassidus school. This chassidus is all they know. all theier friends and family are associated there. Yet she wants to drive. would she do that an lose out on sending her kids to the same school all their neighbors, cousins and friends go? she would be totally lost. it's not her type, her culture, they don't speak her language.
