Since so many people never heard of eating two Seudos on Erev Yom Kippur , I'm curious to know what type of clothes you wear on Erev Yom Kippur and do you go to the mikvah on Erev Yom Kippur. We all have different minhagim. I eat two Seudos. When I was growing up I recall that we wore Shabbos clothes an entire Erev Yom Kippur since it's considered a Yom Tov.
But I didn't ever hear about women going to the mikvah until I saw ads in the local paper that the mikvah is opened special for women to toivel before Yom Kippur.
Do you wear Yom Tov clothes? Do you go to the mikvah? And do you eat two Seudos?

Two seudas. Dress nicely but doesn't have to be shabbos clothes. Definitely don't go to mikvah.

Erev? As in tomorrow until the fast starts? Probably pajamas as I will just be in the house all day.
What is the reason for wearing yom tov clothing even before teh fast starts?

I go to the mikva either the night before or early the morning of Erev YK.
We eat 2 seudos, first one with fish, second one without. Traditional Shabbos food.
I wear regular weekday (house) clothes all day, but by the second meal we're all ready for YK, so then we're dressed in Shabbos clothes.

We did two seudahs when I was a kid. Now that I work, I only have time for one.

Sorry to high jack but a quick question about Mikva.
I don't go erev Yom Kippur but tonight is my night to go. Do people go also at the same time?
My Mikva usually has appointments but tonight they are only open for two hours without appointments could I still go even if I am not going only because of erev yom tov?
I am too embarrassed to call the Mikva ladies cell phone where I call during the year for an appointment.

During the day regular clothes.
For Seuda Hamafseket I dress in my Shabbat robe, and Sheitel.
I don’t wear the clothes for YK, because it’s all white im afraid to get dirty.
DH is already dressed for YK though, Shabbat suit

We have only 1 meal we wash for
Early in the am we eat fish for “Breakfast”

It's brought in halacha, as is everything else in the op.

2 seudas. First one with guests and more food. Second just immidiate family.
Nicer clothing (think Chanuka party level lol. I don’t have my closet segregated by strict Shabbos/ weekday).
It’s a Yom Tov just like any other.

Oh and no Mikva.

Seas, I don't go to Mikva either. It's certainly not Halacha. If it would be Halacha we all would know about it.

If the mikva is open for two hours without appointments, that is meant for women coming for the quick erev YK dip. There's nobody watching them dip and no supplies/robes or towels are provided. If you are dipping for Mikva night, you need someone to watch you.

I know you said you're embarrassed to call the mikva lady, but you'll be way more embarrassed to arrive there and everyone will see that only you are going in with her. Call her now and ask her when to come.

It's not halacha. It's a strong minhag. I go when I can because my mother goes and so does her mother. One year I couldn't go because of a big wound on my foot, and nothing happened; I just didn't go.

Regular work clothing. I never learned that Erev Yom Kippur is a yom tov. Dh and I work most of the day.

One seudah.

Mikvah for men only.

Regular weekday clothes. No mikvah, (I think it's a chassidic minhag maybe? Never heard of it before this site)

I grew up with two seudas but my DH thought it was strange when I tried to do it the first year we were married lol. He usually picks up a pie of pizza for lunch for himself and kids and I eat leftovers from the previous night's dinner (I'm allergic to dairy)

Yes to mikvAh (means a lot to my mom).
Yes to two meals
No to dressed shabbosdig

We eat a full shabbos meal motzei Yom Kipper. I know many people will eat just bagels or cake.

No right or wrong. Everyone does what is their minhug.
