How do you go about advertising? Do you do pay per click, or pay a general fee for putting you up front?
Do you go through Google or ????
I would appreciate any advice you can offer.

PPC doesn’t work, unless you’re targeting students who don’t know how to do research on a search engine and will click anything that flies in front of their face. To dominate your industry (and I’m assuming you are selling something) you will want to be in google’s search results naturally. If you are serious about finding someone who is promising they can do it, make sure to check out their work and references before you lump down a huge sum.
If you are selling brand name items, selling on comparison shopping sites work well.
