Is it the same as the thin noodles we put in chicken soup? If not what noodles do you use for Lo Mein?

They aren't egg noodles and they are thicker than spaghetti. I would say the closest match would be the thicker fettuccine style noodles.

They are egg noodles, but they're made differently than the shelf stable lokshen packages.
Gefen makes lo mein noodles. They're in the fridge or freezer section.
In a pinch you can use linguine or thin linguine pasta.

When the. US had a wheat surplus and China/Asia had a rice shortage, noodles were introduced to the Asian cuisine.
Even macaroni could work.
