I'm interested in buying a few, but am wondering if there are any issues with Shabbos and whether those features can be disabled. For example, I know there is one feature that causes the device to glow when someone walks past it at night, and that can be disabled. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

I don’t know about it glowing when you walk past it, but it once woke me up with this very loud SMOKE IN THE HALLWAY warning when my shabbos candles extinguished. I light oil along with the candles, and the smoke apparently travels. We now keep the door to my dining room closed to avoid the problem.

We had. They drove me crazy. Got rid of them. It's been a few years so maybe they have better features now and less sensitivity. I could not cook a meal without those things going off.

I have them and yes, you can disable them for Shabbat or turn off that feature entirely. If you do it from your phone it isn't instantaneous, so I usually disable them Thursday night but you have to remember to do it. It can be done instantaneously by hitting the button on the actual unit, but I'm too short.

I like them a lot, they let me know when testing is needed, when the battery is low, etc. Sometimes when someone takes a hot shower the device says "smoke is detected" but it never goes off as an alarm because the steam dissipates too quickly.

We also have a few of them. We don’t keep our rooms dark enough for the light to go on when someone walks past it so I never had that issue. I like that they all “talk” to each other so if one goes off, all of them will, and it’ll tell me which one went off. It’s a cool system with great features.
